Education is foremost in our important conservation work, which can be seen in a variety of ways around the Park:

  • Discovery Zone with interactive material
  • Teacher's Pack linked to the National Curriculum Key stages 1, 2 & 3   (Designed working closely with local educational advisors)
  • Attractive readable signs, many especially for the children
  • Educational keeper presentations.

Children of all ages will enjoy hand feeding all the tame waterfowl, and especially our unique Hands-On feeding scheme, where they are encouraged to participate in the feeding of our Penguins, Wallabies, Macaws, and in the Bug & Reptile World.

Whenever possible we also try to let the children meet our tame animals and birds in Pets Corner, where their "feel and smell" really bring nature to life!
